1.1 Art & Cultural Events

  1. Growing the arts and culture in Puyallup

March 8, 2018, 10:00 AM @ Council Chambers, City Hall

Members of the Puyallup Arts & Culture Commission will convene to view a webinar on Washington State’s new “Certified Creative District” Program. This webinar is offered by the Washington State Arts Commission (ArtsWA). The Washington State Legislature approved the “Certified Creative District” program in 2017. This program invites local governments and nonprofit arts and cultural organizations to define a specific geographic area or areas to target for the purpose of attracting artists and creative entrepreneurs. These districts are envisioned as activity hubs that will enhance the economic and civic capital of communities, and help them develop into appealing places to live, visit and conduct business. This webinar is available for viewing by the public. A quorum of the Arts & Culture Commission may, or may not, be present for this meeting.
